The best reading programme for your child is the one you can actually get to every week. A slightly better class across the island loses to a good class ten minutes away, because the one you keep going to is the one that works.

What is the same at every centre
Whichever centre you go to, the programme is the same. That matters more than it might sound — it means:
- The same English Assessment. Placement is based on your child's literacy ability rather than age alone, or which centre had space.
- The same method. A system built on decoding rather than memorising word shapes, developed by educational psychologists.
- The same pathway. Reading Foundations, our pre-reading programme; Champion Readers, our reading programme with six progressive levels; Headstart to Primary 1, our Primary 1 school readiness programme for K2 children; and Primary English, our English enrichment programme for Primary 1 to Primary 6. Together, the pathway supports children from ages 2.5 to 12.
- Transferable progress. If you move house or change your routine, your child continues at the same level at another centre rather than starting again.
Choosing between two centres near you
If you have a choice, the things worth weighing are practical:
- The journey on a weekday evening, not on a Sunday map. A trip that works once a week in theory has to work forty times a year in practice.
- The time slots available for your child's level — this varies by centre and is the most common reason parents choose one over another.
- Parking or MRT access, depending on how you will actually get there.
Call the centre and ask which slots are open for your child's age before you decide. It is the fastest way to narrow it down.
Finding your nearest centre
The full list, with contact numbers and current opening hours for every centre, is on our centres page. Each centre can arrange a Literacy / Primary English Assessment so you know which level your child should start at before you commit to anything.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a phonics class near me in Singapore?
Very likely — I Can Read runs centres across the north, north-east, east, west and central Singapore, most in a shopping mall or community hub. Find your area in the list above, or see the full list with contact numbers on the centres page.
Which I Can Read centre is nearest to me?
Centres are spread across the north, north-east, east, west and central Singapore, most in a shopping mall or community hub near an MRT station. The centres page lists every location with its address and phone number.
Is the programme the same at every centre?
Yes. Same English Assessment, same method, same four-stage pathway. Centres differ only in their address and the class times they run.
Can my child change centres?
Yes. Children continue at the same level at a different centre, which is useful if you move or your schedule changes.
Do I need to book an English Assessment first?
The English Assessment is how we place your child at the right level — by literacy ability rather than age alone — so it comes before the first class. Contact your nearest centre to arrange one.
What ages does each centre take?
All centres serve the full pathway from 2.5 to 12, though the specific class times available for each level vary by centre. Ask when you call.
Is there a centre near Punggol?

Is there a centre near Tampines?
Yes — I Can Read Tampines, at Tampines Plaza 1, 3 Tampines Central 1 #04-05.
